My brother has a nice, expensive Digitech pedal for his standar guitar. Would my bass sound like crap, or possibly ruin the pedal if I played through it?

  2. I think it won't be a problem.....but probably it will suck up some low-end.......

Agreed... I used a Boss distortion pedal, and I couldn't get the lows that I really wanted. It is perfectly acceptable to use guitar pedals though.

Basically, it will sound cool to mess around with at home, and thats about it.

You won't mess the pedal don't worry. But you will probably get a sound which if you like you will feel that you need to buy a guitar. so stay away :)

I play bass and guitar. I used my DOD death metal distortion once through my bass. It sucked. To noisy, screachy. Way better on my guitar.

I use a rubbish little zoom gfx 707, The distortion does suck, but for chorus delay and alike it sounds very cool. I've never been a fan of bass distortion anyway. I now use it for gigs and think it rocks.

Have a play around anyway, go make some wierd assed noises.
