This isn't too serious, if at all, but what would you say if someone wanted to make a bass out of legos... minus the neck and whatever else. I'd think of it as kinda quirky... not too wierd but not exactly normal. Your thoughts?
Anyone else agree that it would look kind of lame if it was all different colors though? The whole "I ran out of this color" excuse would be really lame. Rainbow bass...
I may actually go down with this... just got to keep collecting LEGOs. Anyone want to put in some input? Color? Shape?
Same here heh. I've actually gone as far as posting on my online journal for people to give me their LEGOs.
Sounds like fun. Wouldn't it have to be a neck through with wood? Wouldn't the tension of the strings destroy the thing in a matter of hours? That Lego SG on Nino's link is a guitar probably with less tension than a bass guitar. Let us know how it turns out.
hmm.. you shoudl just scrap a cheap bass, carve away a significant amount of the body, and glue legos onto it, taking care to make sure that they also look like they are connected to eachother..
I'd like to just take this oportunity to say I always thought it would be cool if someone sculpted a bass out of one piece of rock. You certaintly wouldn't have to worry about the neck warping, although it would be ridiculously heavy, and probobly would sound awful. (I don't think that rock is a material with good resonant properties).
