I am looking for something cheap, I am still new to this and I don't think I should buy the $1500-$2000++ ones.
    All comments are appreciated! Thanks!

Ok check out the Line6 BackTrack Series, no software just plug it in to your pc for power and then plug in your bass. It records .wav files. Nothing fancy but a good product. I agree that start up costs can be high. I have the zoom H4 under $500.

  3. I have an M-Audio Fasttrack, costs about €100, has direct and jack inputs and a headphone line out. It comes with ProTools, but I prefer Adobe Audition for mixing. I just love the simplicity if this thing.
