The title is my question. I've read about this flamencostyle on this forum alot of times now, and I kind of think I would get more out of the discussions if I knew what it is...

  2. Most usually they're talking about a rasgueo. You curl your hand into a loose fist, then flick out your fingers one by one. There are lots of patterns, using different numbers of strums, and different finger combinations. It's a rhythmic effect; you don't really have to worry about whether you hit all the strings or not.

  3. not too sure about that part. its similar to fingerstyle picking on the guitar, involving the use of 4 (or all five) of your fingers. by doing this u are able to use different picking patterns. its pretty sweet. right now im taking a class at skool about fingerstyle picking on the acoustic guitar and i hope to be able to apply it to my style of playing bass.

Not sure if this is what you're after or not, but it seems to me that a large portion of flamenco music is in a harmonic minor key. Noodle around in that.

  5. If you're wanting to hear some serious Flamenco music, and especially bass, the main man on this scene os the pehnomenal Carles Benevant - he's a bit obscure outside of Spain, but in his own country he's a national hero, this is a brilliant album features him very heavily:

And a friend of mine is also a briliant bassist - his new album has a very heavy falmenco jazz influence:

Hope some of that is useful.
