What is GAS?

  1. I've seen this word used alot.... what does it mean?

  2. I'm sure there's a couple versions, I understand it as Gear Aquisition Syndrome.

Basically, the desire to buy new gear.

  3. Gear Acquisition Syndrome. A word to the wise - inhabiting this site will only make the affliction worse... ;)

So now you know what you're supposed to put in the GAS list in your profile. Heh, mine changes all the time...and that's in no small part due to my eyes being opened about the myriad bass luthiers I'd never have heard about otherwise had I not became a part of TalkBass.

They say NJ is the armpit of America because you know how America is shaped? The northeast portion looks kinda like an arm and NJ is smack dab where the armpit would be, were that landmass an arm. Hence, it's called the Armpit of America.
