i have the zoom bfx-708. its really cool but the only drawback is the distortion sucks. too digital sounding (hmm). the synth is cool, the wah is ok, the chorus and flanger are awesome, there are some fretless effects which are cool and the EQ is good. i would recommend it if youre not looking for something real expensive.

Zoom multi effects are great for the price

i have the Zoom Player 3000 B... i think that one is not as popular in US as the BFX-708 but they are in the same line... i´m happy with the effects (don´t really use them all but i like to get different standard tones mixing EQ, Compressors, Amps, etc)

i haven´t tried BFX-708 but i heard it´s a pretty good (also comes with sampler, tuner, metronome and drum machine)
