what is the best p+j sets for slapping and popping

    hey guyz
    I'm looking for the most suitable p+j sets for slapping and popping and I'm courious for emg pj but I'm still searching
    for the most suitable one...help me will you guyzzZZZZZZzz
    getting sleepy here byee...help
     
  2. I once played a bass with a Seymour Duncan PJ setup on it and the slap sound was quite nice. I believe they were the Lightning Rods set, but I can't be sure.

    You won't be able to get a safe answer here.
    (At least) Two reasons:

    1. Everybody has a different definition of 'perfect slap sound'
    2. A pickup's sound depends a lot on factors like type of bass, strings, etc.

    Get reasonably good pickups e.g. in the Bartolini range, and you'll do fine. It'll be a matter of experience and testing to find 'your' pickups.
