I've found SIT strings to have a much hgher quality than the price suggests. I think they're something like $16. I use nickel flats, but they have all kinds. Nice people, too.

  3. The strings that:

    1) Sound the best

    2) Feel the best

    3) Stay in tune and intonate the best

.............. For You !............... (seriously)

IMHO there is no such thing as the "best" string.

Right on. Only you will know what's best for you.

Seriously though, Slinkys are awesome. :)

I do like these, but they cost a bit more.

Try some rotosounds; got a pair of swing bass 66s on my zone bass (use it for funk a lot) and it really sings with the slappin.

Actually, I misread the question. I gave the best string for the money, IMO. If the question is "what is the best string?" I all you'll get is a string an individual likes. There is no best string.
