    I paid full for a brand new Subdecay Super Spring Theory spring reverb so I could get it in aqua. One could argue that's throwing money at a shallow aesthetic choice, but I look at the pedal and am filled with joy. And I feel like the aqua finish fits the sounds the pedal puts out far more closely than does the stock black finish (though that's classy), and also it fits my colorful mini pedalboard that's kitted with purple, green, and light grey pedals.

    I could've saved like $50 going used, but it was worth it for the right finish :D

    I like the anti color of industrial metal from Fairfield Circuitry. On 2 boards I have black / white tuner, black preamp, red fuzz, red reverb, white boost, green chorus, black phaser, black & silver envelope filter.

  8. I’d get all my pedals in matching blue or black if I could just for my own cosmetic taste. But as far As that video I do tend to think of certain effects relating to certain colors based on what I consider the classic pedal for that type of effect. For example

    overdrive= black (because sans amp bass driver)

    fuzz= green (because of the old muffs)

    Chorus = blue (boss choruses)

    Phaser =orange (phase 90)

    Looper = gray (tc ditto)

    Octave= brown (boss OC-2)

    does it impact the pedals I buy? Not really. For example my drive is gray, my octave is blue.

    I'm working on having a board where the only colors aside from black/white/metal come from LED's and displays.
