  1. what is the difference between guitar and bass effects?

I have a Digitech RP 2000 guitar pedal and I love the effects options it gives me. If there is a big difference i guess i will have to get a bass pedal...

If you like it an you are happy with the sound, keep using it.

why play the effects that your supposed to. Thats how people get new intresting sounds is doing what they arent supposed to. But in answer to your question most guitar effects cant handle the lower frequencies that a bass puts out. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with what your doing, and your not harming anything. If you like the sound then your set, but in general bass effects are geared towords lower frequencies.

I havent used the RP2000 on bass but the time based effects are really good. Ditto on the like it keep it philosophy.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I'm planning on keeping the RP2000, no reason to spend extra $$$.
