$3680.00 for me. And I don’t get it until April.

What is the most you have paid for a bass guitar?

It was either 2299.00 or 2399.00 for a new Gibson T-Bird a few years ago, was well worth the money. Did you order that bass at the custom shop? That's the only reason I can think of that you'd have to wait a year.

$3000 each for two. in the mid 90s (maybe around $5000/per in today's money).

they were ok, one was my #1 for almost 15 years. but i wouldn't do it again. ;)

Why is it going to take so long? Is it custom shop through Sweetwater?

Yes. I think Fender has to build it and COVID is disrupting everything.

    $1,300 for a used 2009 Rickenbacker 4003 Mapleglow.
Used is the way to go.
(figured I should post a pick of it since I'm getting quite a few likes)

Nice bass! The most expensive bass I ever bought was a used Warmoth Gecko 5 Med. I paid $600 usd for it. I'll probably move it along one of these days when I get around to it. Sadly the local shops won't take it because of no serial number.

My L2000 was $1,500 but because I used "Play now, pay later" I had to pay interest.
    Final price, $1,700.
    Was it worth it?
Knowing what I know now, I would've gladly paid $2,000 for it.

$608 after tax and delivery for a 2003 USA made EBMM SUB Bass, which has the two band EQ that I like the sound of much more than the three band.
I like to buy used basses and generally find them for way less than they should cost.
In this case, I paid a normal used price for that bass even though they are as good and any EBMM bass.
I've paid so little for a number of basses that it felt like stealing.

  15. $850 for Mexican Fender Jazz Classic 60s with nitro finish, reverse tuners and a tweed hard case included. That’s a lot for me- Gotten a Squier, and Epi EB-3, and an Ibanez all for under $300- my avatar 68 Telecaster bass I got off a friend in early 90s for $250..it needed some TLC, but by far my best bass!!
    I DO need a P bass, though....damn GAS!!!

Pretty sure this’ll be the most expensive instrument I’ll ever own. However, I’ll say that price is not important if an instrument makes you play your best and puts a smile on your face. Can’t put a price tag on that.

An Alembic series 1 in 1979 for $1200. It was an insane price at the time. According to google that's $4700 now. I would pay that in a heartbeat for a series 1 now.
