Still don't understand what the need or purpose is to "get a number" in any of the "clubs" on a forum.

  2. There is no point. So what?

  3. The main thing is the vanity of it, to show off what instruments or amps you own.
    :smug:
OTOH it makes it easy for another member to realize what gear you're using from your signature (which clubs you're in).

I think the numbers are just so people can claim they're a double-digit number or maybe even a single-digit.
    (founding members) :D

  4. Bah da boom! End of thread. Done. Later!,

Despite all of our technology and advances, we're still a tribal people. A number lets us feel like we belong to something greater then ourselves.

This question needs a poll with “carrots” as an option.

    No number for Vinnie.

  11. It's supposed to make you feel relevant within the club, but sometimes it makes you feel ILL-relevant.

I guess you're just feeling sick and confused about the whole number thing.

I have some Pbasses , a Ray , Ric , G&L , Hofner , Dano Longhorn and some others . I usually have eleven or twelve basses . I joined the Dano Owners Club . It's also the one I use the most .

  15. I don't know about the need for a number, but I like the idea of a club where the information pertaining to a particular thing is maintained in one place.
For example, I'm interested in Elrick basses. My first search is Elrick Club.

Some of the guys at a show last week were outside “smoking a number”-didn’t help their playing much by my estimation, but they certainly did smile more. I don’t know...
