    Hi,

Just hit a pic of Tony Kanal (No Doubt).
He uses a Yamaha I don't remember I ever saw.

Does anyone know which model it is ?

    Many thanks,
    JL

  2. I don't know either. The bass is not on yamaha's website or I haven't found it...

  3. It's one of the BB series, maybe a BB3000S. They were very popular in the 80's.
I think Yamaha did a remake recently with the BB1000MA.

  4. The angle makes it hard to say anything definitive about the body shape, but the headstock does look like the ones in 80´s BB-series basses. I don´t think I have ever seen one with a pickguard though.

That's exactly what looks weird to me : sure this bass seems to be a BB, but the pickguard is unusual on these basses.

    Cheers,

  6. Looks like a Precision pickguard to me, I guess he thinks it makes it look cooler this way.
Maybe it does. Made you wonder about it anyway :)

How recent is this photo?

Could Mr. K have been "test-driving" the prototype for his very own signature Yammy? :eyebrow:
