    Hey,

I noticed on the back of my Fender '57 RI P-bass headstock there is a hole drilled close to where the string tree is on the front of the headstock, but not in the exact same location. I have noticed on some older fender basses that there is a small round metal object here usually (it looks like something between a string tree and a strap button). Does anyone know what it is? Just curious.

    Thanks!

    Hi

Vintage Fender basses had strap pins there. Probably what you are talking about

Thanks for the help! That's what I though it might be but I wasn't sure. Much appreciated!
