I bought a 1992 ibanez ctb3 from a music store about a year ago. I heard it is a prototype of ibanez soundgear basses. is this true? its a REALLY nice bass. i just can't find info on it and i wanna know.

I bought one of these when they were first released.

Amazing bass. It was commented on a few times by sound engineers that there was a slight chorus effect through the pickups which gave it a rich sound. The neck was so comfortable to use and looked great with the dark wood and fancy inlays.

I sold it after my last chance of stardom died out ;) I really regret it now :meh:

As regards them being the prototypes of the soundgear, I can see it as a possibility. However, I really liked the fact that it had an Ibanez headstock, unlike the soundgear

Well, I stand by what I said - it's a great bass. I just wish I could get one now!

I feel like I'm stuck in a time warp now - is Billy Sheehan still the best thing since sliced bread? ;)
