What is your primary bass? Your #1?

For my surprise it is a Fender Modern Player Jazz Bass. Love that bass! I got it in a swap...best thing I could have made! Wide range of tonal options.

Here's Elena, a passive 97' Warwick Corvette STD in bubinga.
I've had her for 4 years, and the honeymoon period still isn't over.
Been through more gigs and rehearsals than i could possibly count, and the only maintenance i've had to do is changing strings every now and then.
It's kind of crazy how versatile a passive bass with 2 j-pickups can be. Does angry pseudo p-bass tones to bright modern snarl with ease.
Also probably the thinnest neck i've seen on a Warwick, almost similar shape to a Geddy Lee jazz.

Before and after. My MIJ '75 Reissue Jazz Bass. This twenty year old bass has been rejuvenated with Aguilar Noiseless Jazz Bass pickups, an active Aguilar pre-amp and a black pickguard. I did not like the Jazz Bass's original separate volume controls nor the heavy hum of the original pickups. But, it has a great, playable neck and it's a fairly light bass. Now it has volume, pan, low/high midrange controls, treble and bass controls, an active/passive bypass, chrome knobs and the jack has been moved to the side of the bass. Fender full nickel strings gives it a less aggressive sound. It is a true tone monster and is my current favorite bass.

I don't assign either of my Precisions as No1 or No2. The 3tsb with black pick guard goes with my black tux. The honey blonde 50's classic with gold pick guard goes with my white dinner jacket.
Either looks lovely with my blue velour track suit.

I actually rotate between my Ibanez SR5005 Prestige and my modded Ibanez BTB1605 Premium bass equally. Both are amazing and an absolute joy to play.

I'm stuck. I have two wonderful basses that I can't choose. First, (fittingly) is my first bass ever. A modified Squier P with Seymour Duncan QP's and some personal touch (with a "hidden" tone knob so all I have is a volume control"). This bass has been my #1 literally since day 1. I put my heart and sould into that bass to make it so that "my" sound was coming out of it. It is as solid as a tank and roars like a lion. Second, I have a new Fender Jaguar I just picked up a few months ago. She's a beaut and sounds just as pretty as she looks. The only "mod" i've done is throw on some strap locks (not shown in this picture), but other than that she's untouched. The Jag roars and sounds better than most basses I've played, but recently I've gravitated back to playing my P. Maybe it's because it's my original and because I know every inch of that bass inside and out, but at this point I can't say I have a #1, but I have 2 #1's.

"Mango" gets most of the gigs these days. After more than 2 years, still can't put it down...

The "White Ghost" is backup and #1 for the rare funk/country gigs.

Depends on what I'll be playing.

I have a partsbass jazz copy with 18V Barts for growl, P with a SD QP and La Bella tapes for thump and a ~1970 Rivoli MIJ bolt on neck for tone.
