Just a guess- Rickenbacker? It seems to have that shape, the headstock looks like one as well.

Danelectros mostly have lipstick pickups. It doesn't look like any Rick I've ever seen. That Univox is a Mosrite copy. Univox made many different copies. It looks to me like it could be any one of several Japanese manufacturers. Who knows? Univox is probably a good a guess as any.

Definately not a Rickenbacker. I'd guess it's a Hagstrom or Vox.

  11. Im gonna say it's Hagstrom, swede bass.

    Maybe a custom DiPinto.

  14. I wasn't specifying a model, just the country of origin. I think I've seen a Hagstrom bass very similar to this one. The tailpiece bridge, pickups and headstock were similar.
My second guess would be Univox...
    Oh well..

i don't get you guys. do you have any reasoning behind this? hagstrom swedes have a different headstock, different body shape, different inlays, and different pickups...plus i've never seen a semi-hollow swede.

are you guys on crack, or is it just me?

It is a 60's Japanese Tiesco, or a facsimile of one. A friend used to have on not long ago that looked almost identical to that except sunburst.

    I correct myself...

Upon looking at it again, I believe that is a 60's Framus. I have seen guitars that were that shape (sort like a thin hollow almost strat shaped body) but I have never seen the bass, though I know one was made. I bet that is what it is.

Well, two trys on my part...
