What kind of bridge is this?

  2. the bass is a Precision Plus from around 91/92 - I've got one -the bridge is stamped with the Fender logo, but says "made in Germany" on the underside which suggests it was made by Schaller.

    this bridge was also used on the later Precision Plus Deluxe (with active electronics- I think Munjibunga has one) and some earlier Precision Elite models.

    the bridge has fine tuning screws for each string (they press down on the string as it passes between the saddle and anchor point), but for me they didn't offer any advantage, and just got in the way when changing strings.
    I changed the bridge on mine for a Schaller 3D type.
