What kind of cab do I need?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Pigmata, Mar 2, 2002.

  1. What kind of cab would have a flat freq response all the way down to 39hz for use with my first 5 stringer? For years I've been using G-K RB800 feeding a Carvin 4x12 and a Trace Elliot 1-18. This works fine for my 4 strings, but the 5 needs so much EQ added below 50hz that it distorts like crazy. By the way, my new 5 stringer is an Ibanez SR-815, with active tone controls, but add too much butt and it sounds mushy. How can I keep it tight all the way down? I'm using Rotosounds .130-.045. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
