i think they might be bel cantos or eurosonic orchestral set? they are on a Colin Wultur bass that we just got in the store really like these strings and their tension and want to try them on one of my other basses thanks
not belcantos, they're straight orange, no wrap. According to (All Hail!) Bob Gollihur's website the Eurosonics that would be closest to what you have are Mediums, which are yellow with a black stripe. These look more orange than yellow, but I could be wrong. They look too orange to be obligatos, either. I'll look around, I guess (i can never get the quinn's violins search thing work). eerbrev
yeah i don't think they're obligatos. for some reason i thought eurosonics have windings like roundwound electric bass strings and are larger in diameter than most strings
Obligatos look more red. I think these are Corelli 370F Corelli Tungsten 370F - Forte Tension Orchestral Strings for an Orchestral Double Bass from Double Bass specialists The Contrabass Shoppe
I'll have to check the winding colors on the pegs but I thought they were orange and black as well. I have Corelli strings on my bass right now and the peg winding colors are various colors. Also Corelli strings feel like they have more tension than the ones on the bass at work. I might have to ask the company we got the bass from if they know
I had them on my bass for about 20min and they were the string with the least amount of tension and the most metallic sound I know of. They felt lower tension than Spiro solos (wich I like a lot).
Pirastro Obligato: Red with black stripe. Corelli 370F: Orange with black stripe. In my database of double bass strings (still incomplete, may take some months unil more or less finished) I cannot find something more similar. Peg end for Obligato: GDAE brown-red-black-green Peg end for 370F: GDAE yellow-violet-black-blue
