I already prefer strawberry jam. I spread it on toasted white bread. That's great. But, I have also spread it on toasted 12-grain wheat bread.... with less success.

    Anyway, holla.

    Potato bread/grape jelly.

  7. Until y'all can honestly love Vegemite with copious amounts of butter on toast, I ain't talkin.:D

  8. I prefer white bread with jam (we used to always have homemade raspberry and strawberry jams as the berries were big local produce).

Blackcurrant jam is also a nice change, or some thick cut marmalade, or honey now and again.

    Om nom nom.

  9. Vegemite on toast+black coffee=Breakfast of Champions!!

They don't get Vegemite in the USA, because they don't deserve it.

  10. :D I think one-ONE-, of the reasons Vegemite ain't popular in US is knowing HOW to use it.
Must be spread very thinly & not covering the whole toast.
One of the best hangover breakfasts:thumbup:
    Lotsa vitamin B's

It's salted crap. It's more than just salty. It's crap.

    And it's salty.

I get my yeast from beer like normal folk, and pretzels are plenty salty.

  12. That's true:D
    Still, it's tasty salty crap:thumbup:

Yeah, the preparation of Vegemite on toast is a delicate artform, my Grandmother is a master of such crafts.

White bread, wheat bread, 12 grain bread: Strawberry jelly, after being lightly buttered.
Rye bread: Peanut butter, spread immediately upon exit from the toaster so as to soften & melt said peanut butter. Mmmmmm...peeeenut buuuuuter.

  17. Homemade bread, oat bread preferred.

Top it off with some homemade jam? Solid.

Gotta be sourdough! Is it an accident that all the sourdough votes are from California? I think not- the rest of you folks don't know what you're missing!

Sourdough is a work of art, and some sourdough strains have been in existence for over 150 years.
