    :help:Hey All,:help:

Can anyone here tell me what serial #'s were the first production year? Or maybe what features were included?

    Thanks,

    Ben

Note the differences in pickups, bridge, control layout.

1st gens were active or passive, 2nds were active only
1st gens had Super Ferrite pickups, 2nd gens had VFLs
1st gens had Schaller Roller bridges, 2nds had ABM style bridges
The 2nd gen had slightly smaller bodies as well.

  3. I love those First Generation TL-5's AND TL-6's. Failed to pull the trigger on a TL-6 years ago... I would lurk Ebay if I had the $$.

I have owned both versions of the TL's. I greatly prefer the 1st gen over the 2nd. One cool feature of the 2nd gen was the ability to sweep the mids, but I don't find myself missing that feature though.
