what p/u do I use

    I built a parts p bass and used sd quarter pounders.I like a little growel but these are a bit to much for me. Are these pickups known for this or could this be another problem. If this is the norm for these pu what would be a good pu to try now.

    QP's are known to be pretty hot. Maybe look at DiMarzio Virtual Vintage if you want something a little smoother.
