  1. Plain and simple, sick of my mooer and I need a change. The choices vary in price, this is the last piece of the puzzle for my board so I want to make sure I get it right. I have narrowed it down to 3. I will be playing it in my hard/stoner rock band.

If you want the best, go for the Spaceman Explorer.

Nice - I see a sine wave LFO! Should be mandatory, imho, yet most use the cheaper (and nastier) triangle...

Apollo II has exp control which is very cool but I'd caution the op about spending too much. Phasing on bass can get old very quickly. I'd stick with your mooer or a phase 90 to be honest.

  5. the only thing with the spaceman is that it is a little out of my comfort zone $$ wise, they run around the $600 range up here in Canada, and for a pedal that I may use for a total of 1 min of music in our entire set, it’s hard to justify. It is a great sounding pedal though. The moog I can justify because they have just been discontinued and will skyrocket in price shortly. They sell for about $200 less as well.

  6. The mooer seems to have a bit of volume suck, which I hate.

My fave is the MXR Phase 100. The base tone works well for my needs, and sounds awesome with fuzz. The different wave shapes that others offer feel unnecessary in my mind. MXR gives you good value IMO

EDIT: Oops, I didnt read very closely. My bad. Get the Moog and let that be your be all end all phaser. That thing is rad.

The Apollo 2 is a monster of versatility. If you're looking for a creative tool, I highly recommend trying it out.

My personal favorite phaser though is the Pigtronix EP-2. It's super syrupy and chewy and unmistakable.

TC Helix. Unlimited options and great sound in a single pedal.

Edit: Sorry! No experience with the three on the list. The closest for me is a vintage Small Stone. Based on that I'd go Bad Stone.

  14. I've heard great things about the bad stone BUT the footswitch apparently emits a loud pop when pressed.

I really really loved the Mr Black Gilamondo 8-stage phaser. Insanely thick and chewy.

  16. 4 stage, not as deep, you could say the same about the Apollo, but it has variety.

I love my Mr. Black Gilamondo phaser. Simple, effective. That bonus knob is the star.
