    I use MEC on Warwick rockbass JJ NAT Lefty

    what pickups do you use?

    Stambaugh 6: Aero; Fender Jazz 5: stock; Stambaugh fretless 4: Bartolini; DB: Radio Shack piezo. I love them all except the DB- it's OK...

    Rickenbacker 4003: stock RIC pickups. I've tried both the Seymour Duncan and Bartolini replacements, but neither growl or snarl like the originals.

    my homebrewed Carvin kit-bass fretless: for awhile I had Barts in this and liked that sound, but I recently plopped the Carvin J99 pickups that came with the kit back into it, and the bass came alive with (much) more output, and better clarity. Which is really odd because before, when I had those pickups originally in it before the Barts, I thought it was too overwhelming. My ears like to change their minds a lot it seems.
