  1. What position do you play your bass in.... and is this because of, or in spite of, your playing ability??

    Do you...
    a) play low slung and root notes only, but look real cool?

    b) play high, tight to chest ...loads of control....blow the image?

    c) play low slung but you're a meister ( how do you do it??)

    d) change according to whether you're recording a video or playing in the bedroom?

    e) other?

P.S I think Mark King's great!...and he holds it high!

There was a similar poll/ mega-thread recently about this very topic.

A lot of bassists wear their bass high. Some of the younger ones wear their basses like guitars, very low. I wear mine in the middle where I'm comfortable.
  3. mine's positioned so that the picking-area is exactly over my erhm " wiener ", and the neck is pointing at about 45 degree angle..

    i usually stand bent-over a little bit..

    That thread was massive.

I wear mine a so its like covering my stomach, and I have it tilted up a little more than a 45 degree angle.
  5. Ooops!!!!
Thanks for that. I've just scrolled through the previous poll and had a good perusal. It seems most members are more concerned with their comfort and playing ability than their image - cool!

Can I close this thread please??
  6. Before you close it....

I just wanted to say that I play while standing on my head and with my toes. I don't use a pick.

Out of curiosity, why was that not among the options you presented?
