All, have a Mackie M-800 Power amp that I'm pairing with a Trace V-type tube preamp; the power amp is 16 1/2" front-to-back, and extends about 1 1/2 " past the end of my older-style SKB ATA 4U rack with the rear lid off. However, the rear lid DOES close over the amp (barely). The Mackie owner's manual says the rear support brackets should be mounted to the back of the rack, but can't because the rear brackets are what extend past the end of the rack...is this OK, or should I invest in a deeper rack? If I should, what make/model of rack would be a good buy for this size power amp...?
    Thanks, danny

FWIW - the only racks I use are Grundorf.

the MLD is 4 spaces, 18" deep and weighs around 14 lbs.
  4. ive got an SVTII and only mount it at the front, and its probably heavier than the mackie, so it should be ok :)
