I can't seem to find anywhere a recommended/or required depth to route when installing pickups. I realize there's adjustment and I was going to do 3/4" so it's deep enough to run the wires to the control cavity, but if someone out there has done bart soaps and knows the "perfect" depth, please let me know.......Thanks!
  2. I make them all 7/8". It has worked for barts, nordies, seymour duncans, schallers & dimarzios.

I do 5/8" for most pick-ups including Barts. If you are putting springs or foam in, make sure you have enough room for the pick-up to give adecquate room under the strings.

3/4" is fine. That's what I make them all except for the occasional MM style pickup installation. Some of them are thinner and don't require that deep of a route.
