ok, so I got a $1000 at my disposal.
I got a cheap slammer hammer bass, and I was looking to buy a new one.

I want a bass thats meant for slapping, or one thats very good for slapping, and like I said for around $1000

Theres probably many answers, but really, I have no clue what to get. Any suggestions?

    So many great basses......
My suggestion would be to try a couple basses that are very common among bass players that like to slap. One is the Fender Jazz bass and the other the Musicman bass.
It's truly a matter of your personal preference.
Another thing to consider is the placement of pickups on any given bass. You want to make sure they are not in the way of where you slap, most commonly close to the neck.
    Hope this helps.

yah I was thinking a fender jazz, an american is usually just over $1000... I was thinking of getting the musicman as well but thats a little more expensive, I think... anywyas im a huge fender fan and I guess u cant miss with a bass like the jazz, an american one at that.. I think its settled, fender jazz.. i love the rubbery sound. Thanks 4 the help!
oh BTW whats the difference between the marcus miller jazz and a regular fender jazz? I notice the american standard jazz is about $150 more than the marcus miller, whats the reason for that?
