what should i check for if my bass is buzzing rattling ?

    what should i check for if my bass is buzzing rattling ?

    i changed new strings ...

    and i'm not sure if my previous stocked string were 0.40 or 0.45
    but i am use 0.45 now
    and afew 2 weeks .. there seems to be still rattling buzzing at the frets

    wat should i check for ???

    Don't mean to be a smart ***, but a description of your problem that is as vague as this can only be answered the same way.

    I would check the adjustments.

    o sorry..

    what i actually meant was that after i changed new strings .Dean Markley blue steels 0.45 .. there seems to be alittle rattling when i fret ..
    wat should i adjust ??

    i'm using a fender j bass .. 0:confused:

    As you put different strings on, your instrument needs a setup.
    Basically trussrod adjustement and intonation, but other minor settings might be necessary.
    It depends on where it rattles.
    9-12 fret, 1-3, after 20 ?

    seems to be rattling all over after 5th fret
  7. I would say that your neck does not have any relief in it. I would take it to a guitar shop or a luthier to get the neck, intoation and bridge adjusted. If you are getting fret buzz after the 5th fret it seems that it is pretty backbowed. I would take it to someone as soon as possible.

    As was mentioned, often when you change string gauges, brands etc, the bass will change because of differences in tension put on the neck by different brands/types/materials of strings.
