I have JJ Pickups.Basically, when I play aggressive and slap the bass I get a rly boomy sound bcs the strings get to close to the pickups poles, i lowered the pickups as much as I could, i think they can go lower, but the screws are rly hard to turn and im afraid to turn them even more, so what should I do ?
Better technique? open the bass by removing pickups, see what’s going on down there... maybe there’s too much foam, or a pickup wire in the way? Also, see how deep screws go on their own, and maybe drill deeper holes... if by boomy you mean you get popping sounds from strings touching the poles, then the “classic” solution is to put tape across the poles... kinda crude but I guess it could be effective...
