I just recently got to play an Elrick (my old dream bass)... I didn't like the neck.. way too thin.

I'm thinking Lakland. How much does a 5 string run?

What is the major difference between the skylines and the USA models? Is the difference worth it?

Any other builders I should look at... I love G&L's and MusicMans (if they didn't have the pickguard).

Because your previous bass is an Elrick, I will tell you to check out MTD. They have beautiful necks: definitely not too thin from either side to side or front to back. Neither are they too thick or wide (IMO).

Edit: previous dream bass, I meant!~

    Boom Bass Cabinets, DR strings
MTD or F Bass, Elrick, Brubaker...

    or a Fender FMT

I have all of these and they're all definitely dream basses:)
