I thought it would be kind of fun to see what songs people learn from day to day...get an idea of what trips your trigger and all that. Or maybe this thread will suck...I guess time will tell.

I learned this one in about 5 minutes. It's incredibly simple but is one that I've loved since the first time I recall hearing it as a wee lad. And I'm still a beginner so it's fun to learn easy tunes that I can play along with!

Pinball Wizard. Guitar player wants to play it so I gave it a listen. We may not end up adding it but it was fun and a quick learn.

I didn't think of it at the time of my original post, but another benefit of this thread is song ideas. I took a look at a bass cover video of get down on it & I think I can handle that one so I'm going to give it a try!

Learned this today - Peter Tosh Johnny B Goode.

Rhythms are a little tricky in the verses for an old hack classic rock guy like me. I really like the part under to guitar leads.

It's all getting a bit pop-tastic around these parts...
    This week:
"It's Alright (baby's coming back)' by Eurythmics and 'Rather Be' by Clean Bandit.
    Last week:
Video Killed the Radio Star and Echo Beach.

    Me too!
EDIT: Well, it was one I had already figured out and suggested to a band I'm in and they went for it...

    RIP Dark Horse strings
I learned the old version of the Late Night theme. It's quite the exercise on DB too, even minus the pops.

The middle section of Dune Tune. I’ve been using the first part to improve my tone and dynamics (as a beginner) but thought I should learn the rest:

Though I've learned some of it, was listening to Billy Idol White Wedding. I'm gonna get it on the set list. The real chore will be when I have to do the vocals and play it. I think it'll be pretty doable, with a couple challenging sections I'll have to work through.
