what strings are these?

    hello mates, i saw some strings on an old fender p, but they were black and look as though they were made of rubber. can you drop me some knkowlege on this subject? thanks

    Possibilities include and are not limited to: Fender 9120's and Fender 7120's. They are Nylon filament strings with the 7120's being rounds and the 9120's being flats.

    If it's an old Fender P then they can be tapes of any company, not just Fender. Also to consider are DR (black coated, not tapes though) and La Bella tapes (maybe black, I've never used 'em, but they are indeed tapewound).

    I think you may be right IIRC these are black.

    hey thanks. it had a realy neet sound but it was on a p wit fretz. i have a warwick fretless, how would those things sound on it? you guys are great!
