They came stock on my fretless Essex. :bassist: They may be groundwounds or flatwounds, how could I tell?
They have black silk and the ball ends are smaller than all of the strings that I have tried. The ball ends are also silver colored. :eyebrow:
The part of them that goes over the bridge seems to be to be seperated. :atoz:
Most of them sound pretty dead, all but the G string.
Please help me here, Thand you! :help:

Are they definitely not rounds? It is unusual for basses to come stock with either flats or groundwounds. Flats will normally be very smooth, grounds a little rougher. Pics would help.
  3. Did you buy the bass new from Rondo? If so, the strings are a crappy set of flatwounds. The ones with black silks came with my Essex fretless were pretty bad. Get a new set of strings and :bassist: Rock on!
