I recently put some TI's on my jazz and I'm very dissapointed. My E string has barely any tone or volume compared to the rest of the strings--that don't sound too great either. So my question is: what strings can i use for my Fender Jazz bass to get a good warm responive tone. Thanks.
  2. first of all, contact TI, you may have gotten a dud E string, they'll help you out.

for warm and responsive, DR Sunbeams come to mind. or were you looking for flatwounds?

I'm looking for roundwounds. My friend also recomended DR's so I think I'll check them out. Any other suggestions are welcomed!

Aslo, what would be the best way to contact TI?
  4. the best fingerstyle bass tone I've ever heard was DR nickel lo-riders on an MIM jazz with CS 60's pickups. sucked for slapping, though (I HATE nickel strings for slap)

I'm mostly looking for versatility, something I can play finger style, slap, and pick.
  6. Dean Markley Blue Steels. There's a thread on them. Check it out.

I'd try a set of DR lo riders. Not too harsh.
