    I'm not sure that's even a home job.

    Looks like a bottom end Japanese import from the early 70's.

    And to think theres a possibility thats not a home job scares me even more ... wow LOL The seller seems to claim its a great bass....but man....theres one I wouldn't touch without one heck of a test drive first ... hahah

    It is a late '60s or early 70's Kingston. Made in Japan, they were simple and actually usually had a decent finish (typically a brown tobacco burst, which has obviously been stripped off this instrument. Some of them had mahogany bodies.

    The sound of these is a nice dark single-coil tone. The tuners look original, but I am not certain about the neck. In their day, they cost about $90. new, which in 2007, would be about $550. That was about a third of a new P-bass then, and it is about half now. :p

    Seems like MIA P-basses are 1/3 cheaper now. :cool:
