Okay, I know there are many >6 string instruments and talented players out there and that's cool. But how does one (or maybe 2) persons play this thing? :) he or she will need strong shoulders and back for sure, just to strap it on. :woot:

Or maybe just a conversation piece for the wall?

Man, if that thing had one more string I'd be all over it.

    Probably this ^^^.

Luthier made it for a trade-show booth, or demo, or whatever. Just showcasing their skills... like a radical custom-car builder. It's not about function.

There have been at least a dozen threads about this instrument.

Jared Dines had it made as a prop for a youtube video two years ago, his initials are on the neck, he got scammed by the person he bought it from.

Here's video of him smashing it:

Apologies, my bad - I hadn’t seen the previous posts and shouldn’t have created yet another. sorry

I just came across this monstrosity on the bay today while searching on a 6-string Status bass and this was at the bottom of the list.

    Funny video, or sad maybe

Since nobody knows what it's called, you can't really search for it to see if it's been brought up before.

You play it the same way as this 12 string bass.

My first time linking to YouTube- this is the guy for whom that guitar was made... someone made him a better one and he made a kinda funny metal edit with it. I enjoyed it anyway.

    Edit- looks like it worked!
