    There are a lot of design elements worth exploring. The fingerboard is cool. And you know that pickup is great. Neat design.

    Yeah, you wouldn't think so from the look of it, but the point of that fretboard design is to get a more fretless-like sound, but still have the intonation precision of fretted. Ingenious really, and yeah, it kinda works once you learn how to play it. Can get mwah and even some vibrato with left hand finger technique, backing up just a bit from the "fret edge". Or right at the edge gets a nice tone, but still without the typical metallic "fret ping" of a fretted (fewer high freq transients, I'm guessing).
