What the *&%$!

  1. Got my newest addition in the mail today - An 89/90 Fender MIJITSO '62 Jazz. Caught it from ebay. No surprises really except for how the bridge had been strung up. The dolt that owned this thing took the strings, passed them through the bridge from front to back, looped them over the top of the bridge and then put them on the tuners!!??

I can't really figure out what he was thinking.

I hope his experience with stringing basses reflected in the price you paid for the bass. (Although, you were bidding against the entire U.S. on eBay). :)
  3. Wow, I can't even picture that but it sounds totally bizarre.
  4. Yeah, best I can figure is he thought the strings were too long and needed to take up some slack somewhere.

These bases are quite undervalued at the moment. They far surpass the MIM's and IMO are every bit as good as American standards. Besides, they have some features that are quite different - one of the reasons I like'um so much.

I've never thought of through body stringing in quite THAT manner.
