My company just merged with another, and the new company has an implementation team in Minneapolis that needs a little bit of help. Since that is my focus in the business, I will be spending some time over the next month out there. Never been in that area - closest was Chicago, more than twenty years ago. Anyone have any suggestions for what to do while out there? Will gladly pick up a couple rounds if there are any TBers interested in meeting up while I'll be in town. Thanks, in advance, for any thoughts.
I lived there for 3 years. Good thing the weather is opening up, gives you lots more options, but there is pro sports (hockey, baseball, basketball right now), Mall of America, lots of bike paths, some good museums, Como Park Zoo and the MN Zoo, Lion's Tap hamburger just outside Eden Prairie. I'm sure you'll get better responses from other TBrs
Thanks, mrpackerguy! I like checking out new areas, so looking forward to it. I've just not had any reason to consider MN, and this all happened quickly, so wanted to reach out to the board here for ideas. I am sure that my coworkers will have ideas, but bass players can see the world differently, sometimes ; )
Walk around lake Calhoun and uptown by lake and Hennepin. If you like sushi, Fuji-ya is awesome. Catch a show somewhere on the west bank and check out dinky town.
We have a good group of TB'ers here in the 'Cities. Come over to the Minneapolis TB group and ask. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f158/%5Bminneapolis-mn-thread%5D-midwestern-comradarie-801014/index24.html
Thanks, everyone - and thanks, hdracer, for pointing me to the Minneapolis thread. I didn't even think to search first. I will pop over there now.
