Well I'm a happy owner of a ATK305 and I've owned it for a couple years I've never cleaned it's fretboard though.
I suppose it's time to do that.

So what can I use that won't dry out my maple fretboard?

I have some Dunlop fretboard wipes however they suggest I not use it on maple so that's why I'm asking.

Maple * always * has finish (poly these days) on it. It is never left unfinished, it stains too easily. As long as the finish is not worn through, a damp microfiber cloth will remove the funk. If it's stubborn, use naptha. Dry it off well. Then just wipe with a dry microfiber after each time you play.

yep, or just clean it with the same plain ol' guitar polish you use on the rest of the bass. it's all equally "finished", so don't worry about it.
