the "n" and "u" are where the screws would fit. The dots are there because I can't put that many spaces.

At first I thought it might be MM, but as you can see

the screws are in a different position.

    MusicToyz has `em -- http://musictoyz.com/rio.htm#bass.
Just like J pups, there's a 'bridge' and 'neck' model.

They're passive and would probably do fine without a preamp.
One company (I know of) uses a preamp with `em - Frudua.

    (click the pic :) )...

They are also known as "Twin-Js" or "Texas-humbuckers", and variants of those names.
And there are a few more producers, though only MEC comes to mind just now....:( alzheimer already??

  6. Rio Grande makes them, and I think Bill Lawrence makes them for Fender.

  7. Yeah, they come in the American Deluxe P-bass, and also in the Chi Cheng signature models. I really like their tone. Very punchy.

  8. Doesn't the Roscoe Beck 5 have em too?

Since when does Chi Cheng has a signature bass? I thought he just has the Custom Shop make his instruments.

  10. I remember seeing it someplace. I think it was Bass Player mag, but I'm not sure.
