My modded Schecter Studio5. As far as I'm concerned it's always needed black hardware. The gold just always seemed like a cheap gold plated plastic chandelier to me.

Jackson Concert Bass. I guess I got that in the mid 80's. Guess what kind of music I was playing back then? :p

    Jazz fusion? No?

How about Bulgarian Folk tunes? No?

Aw, heck, I give up then... :p

Back on topic... Speaking of the 80's, my first bass with black hardware (and my third bass ever) was... get this.. a Barrington Foxxe, made by Barrington Guitar Werks. It was turquoise in color with a "banana" headstock ala some of the Kramers of the day, (plastic) bound fretboard, passive PJ pickups (which sounded really nice, actually) and (of course) black hardware.

Can't find anything on the net about these - I guess they went the way of the dinosaurs... and Fuzzbass' Bulgarian Folk band! :D

    2001 Warwick Thumb V Bolt-On.

Consequently, it was also my first bass to develop a neck issue :meh:

I do have an awesome customer service story to tell about that one though. Wheeee.

My second bass, and the first bass I bought byself was my greenburst Carvin LB75f with black hardware. I don't play it much anymore, but black hardware was definately the best choice for that instrument.

    Oh, sweet!

The bass in the background of my pic is a Charvel PJ. It was bolt-on rather than neck-thru like the Concert Basses.

Really, nothing looks or sounds better for Bulgarian Folk Music than Jackson/Charvel basses!
