The first song I learned was Wild Thing by the Troggs. This was followed very closely by Wipeout (by Surfias?).

Yesterday, I learned When I Come Around by Green Day. I'm digging it because, I don't typically do any hammer ons/pull offs. But it's been a great starter exercise for me in that. :D

So far 11 songs have been listed. I've only ever heard of 2 of them.

You don't know Sultans of Swing??

That song was huge! You just don't remember it.

If it's any consolation, out of the eleven originals, I only know these three.:)

You don't know Wild thing or Iron Man. That's just not right.

  19. First songs I learned to play were:

"We Gotta Get Out of This Place" - Animals
    "Honky Tonk Woman" - Stones
"Blister in the Sun" - Violent Femmes

  20. the first thing I taught myself was AC/DC's "Dirty Deeds". the first tune I was taught: "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran. my teacher didn't want me to lock myself into one style, so he made me learn a blatant pop tune. there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank him for instilling the value of an open mind in me.
