Picked up a mint 2005 ebmm SUB a few weeks ago. I pulled it of the wall to try it out and was blown away with the quality of it. Great neck, balance and the classic stingray tone.

    Love it.

This plywood beauty, the first buy since this happened in mid-2011.

As a cheap experiment, I thought it might be a lot easier on the mangled hand. Isn't. :meh:

    It has been interesting, though.

I've spent about $380 in what would have been my billable bench time on it so far trying to get it into shape, and I'm still not done. The fingerboard was good -- frets properly seated, very little wear, straight -- so I put a light but comfy edge roll on it and detailed the frets, which made a very big difference in how it feels to play.

The pickup is the strong point on this bass, and the electronics are fine. Lots of other problems, though -- a tipped bridge, a pocket cut way too deep, etc.

This used Rob Allen fretless 5er.

Great bass and I couldn't pass up the price.

  19. The Sunburst Mosrite on the left is the last bass I bought, just after Christmas. I hadn't bought any basses for several years and then I ended up buying 3 last year.
