  7. This is what I was looking for. Something that wraps it all up together. Another possibility: "I can only hear tonewood if I don't play above the 5th fret, use a high quality cable, true bypass pedals, and play through a 4x10 stacked on a 1x15".

    Somehow I think even a Trump v Biden debate on Talkbass would eventually devolve into hairsplitting about the exact percentages of nickel vs stainless alloys and their affect on tone but none of that matters because you should be practicing with a metronome.
