Hi, I have the option of buying an older FENDER JAZZ DELUXE BASS (2000 9V MODEL) or a newer (2002 18V MODEL) £160 more.

    What would you do?
Is there really that much of a sound and build difference between the two?
I automaticly think because it's 18volts it's going to be better, but i could be wrong?

    Please help me out

P.S. Someone post a pic of theres?

18 volts would give you more head room, but you also need an extra battery.

I have an 18-volt Fender American Jazz Deluxe FMT 5, and I can't tell an iota of difference that could be attributable to pre-amp voltage between that and my six 9-volt basses.

I'd play 'em both, and if they sound the same and looks are equal, I'd go for the cheaper one. At least don't make your decision on the voltage.

BTW, two of my 9-volt basses are Fenders; a '93 American Precision Deluxe, and a '94 American Jazz Deluxe V.
