    1. buy a 150$ essex bass

    2. or buy a used kramer bass for 30$ (my cosuin is selling it to me) a 50$ cell phone, and lots of minutes?

iknow most of you will be like 'kramers suck' or wahtever.. but hear me out.. all i will be using it for is practicing by myself, writing, and band practice. by the time we play shows.. next summer.. i will have a better bass.

If the Kramer is playable then go for it.

  3. Essex. They are really nice basses. Unless you have a big social life, I'd do without the phone.

the thing is, i kind of do have a big social life. plus theres tons of tiems i would need the phone.. like when i need to call somewhere from a gig or call my bandmates to tell them im on my way to practice, call my parents, call people when someones on my home phone and i cant use it.. id really need it alot. and the kramer really isnt too bad. it plays nice, and feels and looks pretty good. and like i said, ill get an essex bass, or an even nicer bass next summer..

    i edited it

A bass is never just a bass, and you should be quite alright without a cell phone. The cell phone will end up costing a ton more in the long run; just use your quarters.

Does the Kramer play okay? I had a friend that had a cheap old Kramer that I actually kind of liked. The Essex basses are playable (I own one)but they are nothing special. They get built up quite a bit here at TB. Remember that they are great basses for as for as cheap as they are, but they are still cheap basses. If you know for sure that you're upgrading within a year you'll probably get by fine with the Kramer.
