let's get in the spirit of the season. what's the expected loot tally for you folks?
Canon Powershot A80:
And I'm trading a bass for this:
Pretty slow this holiday season. I am getting a new copy of Rufus Reid's book. I loaned mine out years ago and have been meaning to grab the new release of it for a while now.
Beyond that... who knows
Gift certificates for clothes.
Maybe a DVD or two.
The $$$/GFs are the major portion of the gift-age (and what I asked for), so while it's a small list, it'll go far towards maybe a toy (digicam or maybe a cheap fretless 5er) or something.
A new house!
Well, new to us, anyway. Built in 1966. We already closed, and we're having massive renovations done that will put us deep into debt for quite some time. Deep, like low F# deep! But, it's going to be worth it. This will probably be the last house we'll ever need. Almost three times as much space as we have now. There will definitely be an Atlanta GTG there in 2004!
Just got my laser eye-surgery as christmas gift from my parents and some cash too, maybe going for a new and better TV
Kenny Werner - Effortless Mastery (I had this for some time from the internet, but I like it so much that I really felt I should get the book).
I got myself a new Siemens S 150 wireless phone with answering machine (SMS via landline is nice )
A self-knit sweater from my mom, she's incredibly good with this stuff.
I miss those my Grandma use to knit some great stuff for the family... She's still around, just hasn't had the hands to knit in a decade or so.
new shoes (DC shoe company to go along with my initials )
and the biggie for me this year... new bass! either conklin GT-7 BD or nordstrand NJ 6 string (money will be deciding factor) well, i actually wont get it until probably february or march, as it counts as my christmas and birthday present, but i figure its well worth it!
Well, a couple friends already gave me Mario Kart: Double Dash for GameCube, since I've been talking about it nonstop since I saw ads for it on TV but never got around to actually buying it.
Aside from that, I guess any other presents I'm getting will be waiting for me in LA when I go back on Jan 9th. Whee!
Yeah, I've had people come up and asking where I bought my sweaters, in a lot of cases homemade clothes look cheesy or unhip, but my mom can do great designs (with a little guidance )
My mom ordered me a Mapex V Series 5 Piece drum set as a b-day/christmas present... If only it would get here...
Then, from everyone else, I am just asking for $$$. I am going to buy an OLP Spector copy...
And I will probably get a clothing item here and there...
I am a simple guy, i never ask for much. This year i just asked for a few dvds and a new electric frying pan and a Claudia Schiffer calendar.
a suit. brown with pinstripes, 3-button. looks freakin' sharp, i tell you what.
wow, dave, i didn't know that you folks were planning on moveing. where is it?
A watch. But my wife is letting me talk to Roger Sadowsky about a spalt-top bass, just like Jeff's, only fretted.
cool. if you do decide to get the gtbd7, give the purple one a try. they are really beautiful.
Yeah, JT, it's been a real whirlwind. This all literally happened in a six-week span. Found the new house, made an offer, put ours on the market, sold it to the first person who saw it! Luckily, we have a little pad time because the person who bought our current house didn't need to occupy it immediately. We have to move out next Monday. The new place is in Avondale Estates, about two miles from where we are now. Definitely planning on hosting a GTG once we have the place looking reasonably OK.
ooo..lets see i bought my self a ebs fafner head...
im getting a mesa 2x10.. then money..thats going towards everyones elses gifts
